The first Micro Generation Systems fly fishing day took place on the 4th June at Marton Heath Trout Pools, Macclesfield. Although not the best weather conditions for fly fishing, with blistering sun and temperatures in the mid twenties, a few fish were caught. Peter Corrigan of Halcrow landed five, Peter Cooper of N G Bailey caught three and Paul Phillips of Hurlstone and Partners also managed to land his first trout on the fly. The weather conditions were however perfect for the barbeque and a few cold beers between fishing. Even though the fishing was difficult, everyone had a great day and hopefully this will become and annual event.

In 2007, Horne launched the Optitherm Thermostatic tap for healthcare at the IHEEM annual conference and exhibition. The Optitherm has been specifically designed to be conducive to best hand washing practice to aid in the fight against hospital acquired infection (HAI). In addition to the safe and comfortable water temperature and regulated flow rate (6 l/m), the dual lever arrangement means that after handwashing the flow can be closed with an elbow such that recontamination of the hands is avoided.
